 Looks like Andrew Jacob Stephens AKA "Pastor Peanut Butter" has taken a cue from his old spam pal Joshua Kenny-Greenwood, and is setting up a fake "church" to scam donations and avoid taxes. Stephens, now calling himself a "Pastor" and a "Reverend", is listed as the director of The Church of Common Good, a "church" whose phone number is Stephen's home number and whose sole 'staff' are Stephens and his girlfriend Michelle Kellison.

 (Around the time he started his fake church, he unsuccessfully tried to auction off a portfolio of porn site domains on eBay. A video promoting one of his sites "grossoutvideos.com" featured a woman performing some very immoral acts with a jar of peanut putter. Hence the nickname "Pastor Peanut Butter" was born).

 They are not bound to anything that Can-Spam regulates. Spamhaus is dependent on Can-Spam regulations to operate effectively. Why do you think that all they can do is track legit businesses, while spammers keep inboxing.

"Back in October our RV broke down on the 101. We have AAA PREMIUM so we had it towed to Redway, with intentions and budget to have it fixed by the shop by The Mateel. The tow truck dropped the RV at the intersection near Whitethorne Rd. While the tow truck was doing this...we were pulled over while following him and detained while the CHP runs our names. So...when my family and I (2 special needs children and a wife) get to our home it is not in a safe place.

So...while awaiting the tow truck to get back to move us, a SoHum Deputy shows up. My wife and kids were at The Mateel eating when the Deputy starts interogating me about when the tow truck would be there. Obviously I could only tell him what I knew. "AAA has been called and are securing a truck to have it moved to the shop's property". He was not satisfied with that answer and I felt fear in my heart as he got more and more hostile. He told me to come out of my home, so I reached for my cellphone to record the inteaction and call my ACLU attorney (I work with the ACLU as a Civilian Investigator). The cop then grabbed me and pulled me out of my home, threw me in cuffs, and announced that I had "assaulted an officer".

I sat in the squad car for the better part of an hour until my wife and kids came back hysterical because "Daddy was going to jail". Sgt Taylor eventually showed up and asked, "If we take you to jail will it take longer to move this thing?" which I honestly replied, "Sure it will". They let me go...but this is the second most egregious act I have ever encountered in traveling...and
we have no warrants, drugs, guns, or any of that...so it is quite obvious that there is abuse of power in SoHum. The most egregious action by police against us without cause was also in SoHum...which was published in National media. A case we beat in Humboldt Court and later sued for an Injuction over. The aggression found in SoHum can not be matched in America today (not even in Florida)...it is disturbingly sad to see such a beautiful place be ran by such ugly souls."

2) It is somewhat unwise to try to get something out of your pocket when a policeman is questioning  you about why the vehicle was parked in a possibly dangerous position.

There are very few people in the world that make me want to harm them...and I can't think of a solitary segment of society that makes me feel like a bigot...except for those damn anti-spammers...so to speak. There's just something about a person that believes he/she has supreme authority over someone else's ability to communicate effectively that makes me feel some sick sense of enjoyment at their miseries. Dear Southern Humboldt,

Our family of 4 came to Southern Humboldt last year and fell in love with the community. Unfortunately, after working at a local festival we experienced a negative event with a BLM Ranger and were required to appear in court this year.

After making the long trip from Cedar City, UT to Eureka...the case was dismissed appropriately.

While making the trip back down the 101 we experienced a breakdown in Rio Dell. Being AAA members, we felt confident all would be handled, but unfortunately there were no AAA drivers who could tow it. There were also no mobile mechanics to help. So, we did the work ourselves without much knowledge of such things. After re-studding the rear wheel, we got on our way. We got to the Humboldt/Mendocino County line where we broke down again. Since it is the same wheel, it appears we did something wrong when "fixing" it.

After another unsuccessful attempt at using AAA, All in One Towing were the only ones who could do the job. We had to pay out of pocket $1300 @ $325 an hour (everything we had) and we had nowhere to take the motorhome.

The only place we have any ties is Garberville and Redway. Those ties are just from working with The Mateel and Eel River Cleanup Project so we don't feel comfortable bringing our problems to them at this time, without knowing if that is the right route.

We are in desperate need of some assistance out of this situation and are hoping someone out there can help with the repairs on the RV or some type of temporary room and board or labor to pay for necessities. We thank you and hope to be valued family in this community until we can get back home.

I still find it quite hilarious how CAUCE, who are
Spamhaus-supporters...made it a point to call us, at STOPhaus,
"organized criminals". May I point out that not a single solitary
person involved with STOPhaus were arrested for the Spamhaus attacks.
There was a 15 year old kid, known as Narko, who was arrested for
having nudes of his girlfriend on his computer...which he apparently
forgot to destroy after the attack. There was also an arrest on Sven
from Cyberbunker...but the last I heard he beat that case. It was not
for the attack either, but rather some things found in his residence
in Spain.

To put this in perspective in American values...I was questioned and
my computers and servers were all seized and analyzed...but there was
no evidence to make an arrest. Instead, a few weeks later I got a call
from a private security firm offering me a job tracking
terrorism...like REAL TERRORISM. I spent the next 2 years tracking and
socializing with radical Shia Muslims that convince children to strap
bombs to themselves. After that I was busy tracking military personnel
who were raping young girls in Japan. After that I was busy tracking
asshat cops were spending their time sexually assaulting women in
jails. I also helped track a member of the group NANAE (a Spamhaus
support group) who was running the largest child porn server on
USENET. He was convicted and sentenced...largely based on data we
gathered and submitted to the DoJ.

Basically, I worked on REAL CRIME WITH REAL VICTIMS...until one day I
couldn't do it anymore. I just didn't have the goods it takes to work
for profit, while so many people were being victimized by State and
Military employees...so I went 100% NON-PROFIT and completely left
Capitalism.

My statement at the time was, I will not work any job that pays taxes
until Muslims in their homeland were not being starved, bombed, and
tormented by the taxes derived from Capitalism. If that makes me an
"organized criminal"...then I will proudly wear that label for
CAUCE...but being that I took an oath to protect The Constitution
against ALL ENEMIES, both foreign AND DOMESTIC...I will continue to do
so until the day I am carried by 6."

Sven from Cyberbunker (AKA Sven Olaf von Kamphuis and “Prince of Cyberbunker Republic.”) has been found guilty of being part of the DDoS on Spamhaus.

"Kamphuis seemed to honestly believe his Cyberbunker was sovereign territory, even signing his emails “Prince of Cyberbunker Republic.” Arrested in Spain in April 2013 in connection with the attack on Spamhaus, Kamphuis was later extradited to The Netherlands to stand trial. He has publicly denied being part of the attacks, but the chat logs with him coordinating the attack with co-conspirators are fairly damning considering he didn’t even use an alias in the discussions and live-posted his campaign of terror to his Facebook account.
Nevertheless, a judge in Amsterdam this week sentenced Kamphuis to a total of 240 days in jail. However, the judge also counted the 55 days Kamphuis spent awaiting extradition from Spain, and suspended the remaining 185-day sentence. No jail time for Kamphuis."

He pulled up to our camp site to harass us and I opposed the harassment so I ended up with a warrant 2 weeks later for resisting and when I went to court to fight it, after paying a $1450 bill to a bondsman, it was dropped.

Got stopped after a local festival and it embarrassed the shit out of me. Cop told me I had a felony warrant and took me to jail on a $10k bond for a felony. The jail got it dropped to a misdemeanor due to some "error" but bond stayed the same. This is a blatant case of abuse of power and habeas corpus.

Funny how it was dropped to an "infraction" after I posted that I am not into plea agreements in innocence. I know I am watched and we are all likely watched when we taunt the asshat cop we are recording...I wonder if the DA decided a jury was the least likely way to a successful prosecution?

I intend to go to the Clerk on Monday to file a suit against the cop for requesting the DA to process a warrant that lead to a false arrest, with co-defendants being the DA for filing the warrant, and possibly the CHP for executing a false warrant, and possibly even the Sheriff's Office. I am still unsure how the hell the County is involved in a case filed by a Federal LEO for a charge of resisting on BLM land...that was requested after the fact, when no arrest took place. Only Terry Stop.

I know its worth suing over. We pulled up to camp at a managed camp site on BLM land and ended up in a lengthy detainment where i was requesting a supervisor and ended up in jail on a false charge. I don't need a lawyer to know that much. I am likely going to find a good litigator but there are not many to choose from locally so I may even litigate for myself. I am somewhat competent in that area and the evidence of foul play is overwhelming here. Video, belated warrant filed after formal complaint made to BLM office, cop was transferred and office got new Chief. SpamHaus, CloudFlare Attacker Pleads Guilty

A 17-year-old male from London, England pleaded guilty this week to carrying out a massive denial-of-service attack last year against anti-spam outfit SpamHaus and content delivery network CloudFlare, KrebsOnSecurity has learned.

In late March 2013, a massive distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack hit the web site of SpamHaus, an organization that distributes a blacklist of spammers to email and network providers. When SpamHaus moved its servers behind CloudFlare, which specializes in blocking such attacks — the attackers pelted CloudFlare’s network. The New York Times called the combined assault the largest known DDoS attack ever on the Internet at the time; for its part, CloudFlare dubbed it “the attack that almost broke the Internet.”
In April 2013, an unnamed then-16-year-old male from London identified only by his hacker alias “Narko,” was arrested and charged with computer misuse and money laundering in connection with the attack.
Sources close to the investigation now tell KrebsOnSecurity that Narko has pleaded guilty to those charges, and that Narko’s real name is Sean Nolan McDonough. A spokesman for the U.K. National Crime Agency confirmed that a 17-year-old male from London had pleaded guilty to those charges on Dec. 10, but noted that “court reporting restrictions are in place in respect to a juvenile offender, [and] as a consequence the NCA will not be releasing further detail.”
During the assault on SpamHaus, Narko was listed as one of several moderators of the forum Stophaus[dot]com, a motley crew of hacktivists, spammers and bulletproof hosting providers who took credit for organizing the attack on SpamHaus and CloudFlare.
WHO RUNS STOPHAUS?
It is likely that McDonough/Narko was hired by someone else to conduct the attack. So, this seems as good a time as any to look deeper into who’s likely the founder and driving force behind the Stophaus movement itself. All signs point to an angry, failed spammer living in Florida who runs an organization that calls itself the Church of Common Good.

Not long after McDonough’s arrest, a new Facebook page went online called “Freenarko,” which listed itself as “a solidarity support group to help in the legal defense and media stability for ‘Narko,’ a 16-yr old brother in London who faces charges concerning the Spamhaus DDoS attack in March.”
Multiple posts on that page link to Stophaus propaganda, to the Facebook page for the Church of the Common Good, and to a now-defunct Web site called “WeAreHomogeneous.org” (an eye-opening and archived copy of the site as it existed in early 2013 is available at archive.org; for better or worse, the group’s Facebook page lives on).
The Church of Common Good lists as its leader a Gulfport, Fla. man named Andrew J. Stephens, whose LinkedIn page says he is a “media mercenary” at the same organization (hours after this story was posted, large chunks of text were deleted from Stephens’ profile; a PDF of the original profile is here).
Stephens’ CV lists a stint in 2012 as owner of an email marketing firm variously called Digital Dollars and IBT Inc, moneymaking schemes which Stephens describes as a “beginner to intermediate level guide to successful list marketing in today’s email environment. It incorporates the use of both white hat and some sketchy techniques you would find on black hat forums, but has avoided anything illegal or unethical…which you would also find on black hat forums.”
More recent entries in Andrew’s LinkedIn profile show that he now sees his current job as a “social engineer.” From his page:

“I am a what you may call a “Social Engineer” and have done work for several information security teams. My most recent operation was with a research team doing propaganda analysis for a media firm. I have a unique ability to access data that is typically inaccessible through social engineering and use this ability to gather data for research purposes. I have a knack for data mining and analysis, but was not formally trained so am able to think outside the box and accomplish goals traditional infosec students could not. I am proficient at strategic planning and vulnerability analysis and am often busy dissecting malware and tracking the criminals behind such software. There’s no real title for what I do, but I do it well I am told.”

Turns out, Andrew J. Stephens used to have his own Web site — andrewstephens.org. Here, the indispensable archive.org helps out again with a cache of his site from back when it launched in 2011 (oddly enough, the same year that Stophaus claims to have been born). On his page, Mr. Stephens lists himself as an “internet entrepreneur” and his business as “IBT.” Under his “Featured Work” heading, he lists “The Stophaus Project,” “Blackhat Learning Center,” and a link to an spamming software tool called “Quick Send v.1.0.”
Stephens did not return requests for comment sent to his various contact addresses, although a combative individual who uses the Twitter handle @Stophaus and has been promoting the group’s campaign refused to answer direct questions about whether he was in fact Andrew J. Stephens.

Helpfully, the cached version of Andrewstephens.org lists a contact email address at the top of the page: stephensboy@gmail.com (“Stephensboy” is the short/informal name of the Andrew J. Stephens LinkedIn profile). A historic domain registration record lookup purchased from Domaintools.com shows that same email address was used to register more than two dozen domains, including stophaus.org and stopthehaus.org. Other domains and businesses registered by that email include (hyperlinked domains below link to archive.org versions of the site):
-“blackhatwebhost.com“;
-“bphostingservers.com” (“BP” is a common abbreviation for “bulletproof hosting” services sold to -spammers and malware purveyors);
-“conveyemail.com”;
-“datapacketz.com” (another spam software product produced and marketed by Stephens);
-“emailbulksend.com”;
-“emailbulk.info”;
-“escrubber.info” (tools to scrub spam email lists of dummy or decoy addresses used by anti-spam companies);
-“esender.biz”;
-“ensender.us”;
-“quicksendemail.com“;
-“transmitemail.com”.
The physical address on many of the original registration records for the site names listed above show an address for one Michelle Kellison. The incorporation records for the Church of Common Good filed with the Florida Secretary of State list a Michelle Kellison as the registered agent for that organization.

Putting spammers and other bottom feeders in jail for DDoS attacks may be cathartic, but it certainly doesn’t solve the underlying problem: That the raw materials needed to launch attacks the size of the ones that hit SpamHaus and CloudFlare last year are plentiful and freely available online. As I noted in the penultimate chapter of my new book — Spam Nation (now a New York Times bestseller, thank you dear readers!), the bad news is that little has changed since these ultra-powerful attacks first surfaced more than a decade ago.
Rodney Joffe, senior vice president and senior technologist at Neustar –a security company that also helps clients weather huge online attacks — estimates that there are approximately 25 million misconfigured or antiquated home and business routers that can be abused in these digital sieges. From the book:

Most of these are home routers supplied by ISPs or misconfigured business routers, but a great many of the devices are at ISPs in developing countries or at Internet providers that see no economic upside to spending money for the greater good of the Internet.
“In almost all cases, it’s an option that’s configurable by the ISP, but you have to get the ISP to do it,” Joffe said. “Many of these ISPs are on very thin margins and have no interest in going through the process of protecting their end users— or the rest of the Internet’s users, for that matter.”
And therein lies the problem. Not long ago, if a spammer or hacker wanted to launch a massive Internet attack, he had to assemble a huge botnet that included legions of hacked PCs. These days, such an attacker need not build such a huge bot army. Armed with just a few hundred bot- infected PCs, Joffe said, attackers today can take down nearly any target on the Internet, thanks to the millions of misconfigured Internet routers that are ready to be conscripted into the attack at a moment’s notice.
“If the bad guys launch an attack, they might start off by abusing 20,000 of these misconfigured servers, and if the target is still up and online, they’ll increase it to 50,000,” Joffe said. “In most cases, they only need to go to 100,000 to take the bigger sites offline, but there are 25 million of these available.”

If you run a network of any appreciable size, have a look for your Internet addresses in the Open Resolver Project, which includes a searchable index of some 32 million poorly configured or outdated device addresses that can be abused to launch these very damaging large-scale attacks.
